Choosing a Party Theme

What makes a great party nowadays? First is to start up with a great theme! Most party s these days usually has themes. Most common that I'm seeing now is the Frozen theme. Kids can't really get over Elsa, Anna and Olaf! I can hear a lot of kids already memorized the whole song! So how to choose the best theme for your childs party?

First, check in with your child what they think is a fun party for them. Try to look at what they are passionate about. Maybe they love barbie's, or they wanted to be a princess. For little guys maybe they love cars or they want to be a superhero. In our case since Julian is just ten months old back then and he can't tell what he wants for his party, then try to look at what your family is passionate about.  Jardy loves watching motogp racing and car racing so I thought that maybe a car theme would be good, but then Julians' second name which is "Rossi" came from a motogp racer which is Valentino Rossi, so we decided that it's going to be a motogp racing theme.

Second, Color. Ask your child what her/his  favorite color is. If your child loves blue, then maybe you can choose a cookie monster party or the frozen theme. On our end since we already chose the motogp theme, we have to stick with Valentino Rossis' color which is blue and yellow. Sadly, Julian's cake became red and yellow because when I was asked what kind of design I want, I sent her a picture that has red and yellow color on the cake but I told her that instead of red it should be blue. But unfortunately it didn't happen.. Well. The cake is awesome though.

Another thing to look about is to find which your child's favorite character is or a superhero that they love. There was one party that I saw where in the child loves watching Pepper Pig so they held a Pepper Pig theme party where there were lots of Pepper pig cookies!  That was impressive!

Once you have your theme just look for some creative ideas that you can add to the party like the Pepper pig cookies. For Julians' party I chose to add a sweet corner and just add some sweets that has yellow and blue color. Then I added some DIY Pom poms for some decoration. But I wasn't able to add more decorations because I ran out of time. Well I think the visitors didn't care anyways. Well I don't have much visitor naman, it's just my family and the Ninongs and Ninangs, I wasn't able to invite friends as much as I want to because Jardy wanted it to be intimate, plus nakakahiya to ask people to travel 8 hours and spend big money just to eat a normal lunch. hehe. But the good thing is it's a successful party so thank God! Hehe.

Here are some of Julians' pictures at his Christening party.

Suso Beach, Santa Maria, Ilocos Sur

The place is called Suso Beach because it is situated at barangay Suso of the municipality of Santa Maria, Ilocos Sur which is known for it's world heritage site the Our Lady of Assumption Church which is sometimes called the Santa Maria church. The beach sands were fine and brown but the picture at the top was taken around 10 am so it's almost white in color. And would you believe that this beach is located just along the highway? Yup! You heard me right..  Eventhough it was not our first time to be here I was still excited probably because I super love  beaches or probably because I haven't been to a beach for a long long while now or both. Because the last time we were here was a few years back around 2011 I guess and we just had a stop over, because we're going to Vigan. So right after Santa Maria is Narvacan which has some awesome beaches too, which is already near Vigan. So when we got to the beach...

Six

Wow! Time flies by so fast, my baby is now in his sixth month! He's so makulit now. He eats everything he sees. And when you take your eyes off of him for a bit you won't be able to see him on the exact place you last saw him, he will already be on the far side. And because of this we always make sure of his safety. His way of waking you up is by grabbing your face and then scratch it. Oh yeah it hurts a lot even if I  just cut his nails and sometimes it will leave a bruise on my face, the funny thing is that once you look at him, he will smile at you and show his cute dimples so how will you get mad by that? Then in the morning when he wakes up, he will find me and once he sees me, he would smile, sometimes shout then he will start shaking his head and his whole body like he's making pa bibo to me. I'm carrying him right now and he's grabbing everything he sees so it's taking me hours to finish this. hehe. So this is us, I star...

VIGAN, ILOCOS SUR

Vigan City is the capital of the province of Ilocos Sur located at the northern part of Luzon which is around 400 kilometers away from Manila. It was recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. It is known for its Spanish Era ancestral houses. Calle Crisologo CALLE CRISOLOGO is the most famous and most visited attraction of Vigan, It is known for its streets lined with old,Spanish Era ancestral houses and cobble stoned streets.  From there ypu can buy different kinds of souvenirs and furnitures. It's amazing how they try to preserve these old houses, from the windows and floorings and those old massive hardwood doors are so ancient. It's like being warped to the old Spanish times. And to add up to that feeling you can take a Calesa ride and take a tour around Vigan.
