Calle Crisologo |
CALLE CRISOLOGO is the most famous and most visited attraction of Vigan, It is known for its streets lined with old,Spanish Era ancestral houses and cobble stoned streets. From there ypu can buy different kinds of souvenirs and furnitures. It's amazing how they try to preserve these old houses, from the windows and floorings and those old massive hardwood doors are so ancient. It's like being warped to the old Spanish times. And to add up to that feeling you can take a Calesa ride and take a tour around Vigan.

When we took the Calesa ride, manong also took us to Father Jose Burgos' Residence which is the birthplace and ancestral house of Father Jose Burgos, one of the three martyred priests at Bagumbayan, which was turned into a museum. It houses some memorabilias of the priest, dioramas of some local history events and some artifacts of the Ilocanos.
We were also brought to a factory where they make Ilocano jars, what they call as "burnay".
There's still a lot of places to visit in Vigan. Manong talked about the Hidden Garden, he showed us the Crisologo Museum but we weren't able to get in due to lack of time. Maybe next time, I guess. I don't know how many times I have visited Vigan but every time I go there, there's always something new to learn about. So next time I'll bring a camera with me na. :)
